My work in water-mixable oils tends to be semi-abstract landscapes. I enjoy creating moods with colour & shape. I still love watercolour painting & the translucent finishes that can be achieved. Colour and tonal range are key to the impact of watercolours.

I make wheel-thrown functional stoneware in my shed in Widcombe. I love the difference in each piece and the variation and unpredictability of glazes – so opening the kiln is always a bit like Christmas! It’s lovely to be able to choose a favourite mug and even one for each day of the week.

NEW ARTIST : I make small wire animals from galvanised wire which are then coloured with enamel paints. Working from drawings and photographs, any vertebrate animals can re made, the most popular being people’s pets, farm animals and birds. The enjoyment of their creation comes from making them as realistic as possible using the minimum of lines.

Picture making is a joyful process! When experimenting with texture and form the end result often differs from ideas and expectations! My recent paintings are mostly landscapes, but I also have inexpensive flower, still life, fantasy (for children) and abstract paintings and cards for sale. NEW ARTIST : With a career in graphic design stretching over 35 years, I’ve always had a keen interest in ceramics. I currently work from the Bath Artists Studios complex in Bath, focusing on making clean, sharp and simple forms in both black and white porcelain. I prefer a light touch approach to glazing; adding a pop of colour or simply a clear gloss to the interiors to contrast with the matt, sometimes textured unglazed exteriors. A selection of my work is now being stocked by the Holburne Museum Shop in Bath.
