The 2022 Art Trail took place on 18th and 19th June featuring these artists who exhibited at six different venues in Widcombe.

Each piece has multiple ways in which you can view it and see new aspects. I have been developing my technique through experimentation and try to push my skills with each piece

Agnes is known for her Kintsugi paintings. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, to highlight the beauty of imperfection. She loves the calm and serene aesthetics of a single bowl, jug or lemon, simply catching the light and casting a shadow

Carol is an artistic adventurer who enjoys exploring a myriad of styles and mediums in her paintings. Commissions have included animals, people, houses and family moments. Carol exhibits her artwork in First View Gallery at Stourhead and in her studio on Lyncombe Hill in Bath.

Jessica Palmer is a landscape artist, combining paper collage and watercolour techniques. I mix illustration, paper cutting and painting together to create paper tapestries. These depict imaginary scenes in real and existing landscapes around the country, bringing into view the multitude of wild and unseen birds, plants and creatures; drawing attention to the endangerment posed to wild spaces by human activity

Enjoyment of painting has been such a gift during the lockdown months! Painting through the seasons, I have produced hand made cards, each an individual piece of art. My (limited edition) cards and paintings are original and inexpensive and there is variety both in medium and subject. Something for everyone…..!

NEW ARTISTS: Noah & Eve’s first exhibition.
Noah: I love the freedom of art and trying out new techniques. I particularly enjoy painting with watercolours and acrylics & sketching is a real passion. I have also loved experimenting with collage recently.
Eve: I’m very passionate about art, and enjoy experimenting with painting, lino printing and mixed media. I love sketching still life with graphite and charcoal, because you can create such depth and contrast between light and dark. I turn to art as a way to express my thoughts and feelings.

Ruth uses acrylics to paint landscapes, people, current events and abstract pictures. She has passed the Art, Design and Media Studies Foundation course. She has taken classes at the Bath Artists studio and Bath College. She has exhibited her work at various places in Bath.

NEW ARTIST: Handblocked scarves in silk or wool. I enjoyed the craftier side of the textile course at Bath Spa University, and when I had my own studio I became more interested in pattern and block printing. Lino is my mainstay. I print on wool and silk, buying the silk scarves ready hemmed and dyeing them before printing. I usually retain the natural colour of the wool.

I enjoy making jewellery and larger pieces of decorative ware for the home. Many of the dishes I make are landscape and sea scenes slumped into centre pieces. I use coloured glass, dichroics, metal and mica powders to create the effect.

I am an illustrator specialising in art prints and greeting cards of local architecture. My Limited-Edition artwork is panoramic in shape and mounted prints range from 60cm to 90cm wide. My latest pictures include Widcombe Parade with The White Hart and Thimble Mill and Ebenezer Chapel.

Vikki Yeates

I am inspired by the British countryside and paint animals (particularly the hare) surrounded by tangling plants and weaving intricate patterns. I am intrigued by the change of season and the effect the sun and moon have on creatures and their environment. I have recently been experimenting more with poetry, so that this begins to resonate within the illustration, adding more depth and meaning to the painting.

Vitrific is a small co-operative of artists working in vitreous enamel from a workshop in Lyncombe, Bath. The enamelled art we produce includes painted, drawn, stencilled and formed, wall panels and pictures. We also use these enamelling techniques for our range of jewellery and small decorative bowls.
